Current Affairs 27th October, 2017


1.     India has rejected, through foreign ministry, China's repeated invitation to join One Belt One Road project.




2.     Myanmar's  Consul General Pyi Soe died in a road accident in Galagi area of Jharkhand. He was returning Kolkata from Gaya, Bihar. His wife, Nyo and two others were also seriously injured in this accident.

3.     Indian Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met her French counterpart Florence Parly in her first visit to India ;


Main key points of meeting were ;
a.     strengthening co-operation in fighting terrorism,
b.     strengthening defence, security and economic ties,
c.     transfer of critical defence technology to boost Make in India programme.


4.     Now only RO water can be offered to shivlinga in Ujjain's Mahakal Temple ( One of the 12 Jyotirlingas ) to test erosion of shivling stone as the size of continuously decreasing due to erosion ; Supreme Court.



5.     All four main railway stations in Delhi, New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station, Anand Vihar Railway Station and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, are installed with Solar panels. This will not only reduce electricity expenses of railway but also help preventing green house gases emmission.


Solar Panels' Capacities are ;

New Delhi Railway Station - 2.05 MW
Old Delhi Railway Station - 1.5 MW
Anand Vihar Railway Station - 0.8 MW
Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station - 0.7 MW

This project completed under Public Private Partnership (PPP) Model. Rail Minister Sh. Piyush Goyal inaugurated Solar Panel equipment.

6.    Australia's High Court disqualified the Australian Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce in the awake of his dual citizen after New Zealand confirming his citizenship. Mr. Joyce father was born in New Zealand and moved to Australia in 1947. As per New Zealand law, a child born to New Zealand national is automatically given citizenship. Under Australian constitution, dual citizens are not allowed to run for public office.

7.     PV Sindhu beat Chen Yufei (World No. 10) of China in straight games 21-14, 21-14 in quarter finals of French Open Superseries in Paris.

8.    Sangram Dahiya won Silver in men's double trap and Amanpreet Singh won bronze in 50 meter free pistol in the ISSF World Cup Shooting Final at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range.

10.    Javed Akhtar (veteran writer lyricist) honoured with Hridayanath Mangeshkar Award at an event marking the 28th anniversary of of Hridayesh Arts and 80th birthday of veteran music composer Hridaynath Mangeshkar.
